What is New in 2026?
Excelencia in Education identifies and elevates what works with evidence to increase Latino, and all, student success in higher education. In 2026, Excelencia is evolving the focus of Examples of Excelencia from what works by academic level to critical focus areas, and is updating program eligibility for submission.
The four new submission areas for Examples of Excelencia are: 1) AI Innovation, 2) Career and Workforce, 3) Teaching and Learning, and, 4) Student Support. This evolution creates opportunities to demonstrate impact on Latino, and all, students in areas that are critical to how the field fulfills its role in ensuring America’s future. Further, program eligibility for Examples of Excelencia will prioritize programs from institutions in the Excelencia in Action (E-Action) network and aligned community-based organizations.
Who Can Submit for Examples of Excelencia?
Excelencia is strengthening efforts within the Excelencia in Action (E-Action) Network–a community of common cause that includes over 200 institutions committed to making their institutions learning environments where Latino, and all, students thrive. Therefore, programs from institutions in the E-Action network and aligned community-based organizations will receive priority for consideration in the Examples of Excelencia cycle.
